Break THe
Genre Walls
Forget fitting in. Music isn’t a genre, it’s an expression.
Long before I ever touched a turntable, I was just a kid trying to figure out melodies on a piano.
Growing up in Breda – a city with dance music in its veins – gave me a truly unique education. On one hand, I was immersed in the harmonies of classical music. On the other, I was surrounded by the energy of the Dutch rave and trance scene. Those formative years forged my identity as an artist.
Finding a way to blend these very different worlds together has become my life’s work, and it’s what still drives me today. I love exploring contrasts and have never believed in sticking to a single formula. For me, genres aren’t boundaries —they’re just walls waiting to be knocked down. It’s the reason I can pour my heart into an orchestral anthem like “Requiem,” but also crave the dark, relentless warehouse sound of “The Underground.”
Whether I’m alone in the studio at 3 AM or looking out at a massive festival crowd, it all comes down to chasing that exact moment where emotion and energy connect.
Two decades in, and the mission hasn’t changed: I’m not here to fit into a predefined scene. I’m here to evolve it.
